Built around your timeline.
Today your photos and logs live on your device. Your face photos are only ever used for your own timeline and comparisons — never for product matching, advertising or training — and usage analytics can be switched off in Settings.
What GlowProof stores, and where
Today, everything you create in GlowProof — photos, products, routines, check-ins and notes — is stored in your device's private app storage and stays on your device. The app works offline. If you delete the app while your timeline lives only on the device, that data is deleted with it, which is why we give you an export (below). We're building an optional account-linked backup so you can sync across devices and recover your timeline; when that ships, we'll explain exactly what travels and what stays put, and update this page first.
Accounts and sign-in
GlowProof offers a lightweight account, signed in with a one-time link sent to your email — no password to manage. We use your email to send that sign-in link and to link your timeline to you for backup and recovery. We do not sell your email or use it for advertising.
Your face photos
Photos you capture for your timeline are used only to show you your own history and comparisons. They are never used for product matching, advertising, or training any model, and they are never sold or shared with a third party for those purposes. Today they live in your device's private storage; if you turn on backup in future, they would travel only to restore your own timeline to you — never for any of the uses above.
Product photos may travel to find a match — your face photos are only ever used for your own timeline.
When you scan a product label, the image of that product may be sent to a lookup service to identify the item. That request contains the product photo only. It is not linked to your identity or your face photos, and the result — a product name and its details — is all that comes back.
Usage measurement, kept honest
To understand which features matter and what breaks, GlowProof measures feature usage with PostHog. This is on by default and you can switch it off at any time in Settings → Privacy → “Share product usage.” Here is exactly what it does and, more importantly, what it never touches:
- Events, not your content. We record actions like “check-in completed” or “receipt shared” — feature names and counts. Event payloads never carry photos, product or shelf contents, notes, or anything you write. Your face is never in the analytics data.
- Linked to your account once you sign in. When you sign in, your usage events are associated with your account so we can understand real usage over time — for example, whether a feature keeps people coming back. Before sign-in, events are recorded without a personal profile.
- No session recording, no autocapture, no ad networks. Nothing records your screen or harvests every click, and we do not share this data with advertising networks.
- Your switch. Usage analytics is on by default; the toggle in Settings → Privacy turns it off. Note that we do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals — the Settings toggle is the control to use.
The app itself works offline and functions fully in airplane mode; if measurement can't reach the network, the app does not care.
Outbound Shop links
Where the app or this site offers a Shop link to re-stock a product, that is a plain outbound link to a retailer. Following it takes you to the retailer's own site, where their privacy practices apply. We do not add tracking parameters that identify you, and we do not pass your GlowProof data to the retailer. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how the commission works.
Export and delete — anytime
- Export everything. From Settings you can export your full archive — your photos plus a clean, readable data file of your products, routines and logs.
- Delete everything. You can delete individual entries, or remove the app to erase your GlowProof data from the device. If you have an account, you can also ask us to delete your account and any data linked to it by emailing hello@glowproof.app.
Children
GlowProof is intended for adults documenting their own skincare. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add an optional feature that changes how data is handled — for example, an opt-in encrypted backup — we will update this page and the effective date above, and any such feature will be off by default and clearly explained before you turn it on.
Medical disclaimer
GlowProof documents photos; it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. For any skin concern, please see a dermatologist.
